The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, has commended businessman and politician Oladipupo Adebutu for his significant investment in agriculture, describing it as a major contribution to food production, job creation, and economic growth in Nigeria.
Ogundoyin gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to Solomon Kesington Agro Allied Limited, a multi-billion-naira agricultural enterprise located in Iperu Remo within the Ikenne Local Government Area.
In a statement made available to journalists on Saturday, the Speaker expressed admiration for the scale of investment in the agricultural venture, noting that initiatives of such magnitude are crucial to addressing Nigeria’s food security challenges.
“I am sincerely amazed at this quantum of investment in agricultural drive. It only shows that someone is thinking in the right direction and doing what should be done to boost food production, create wealth and tackle poverty,” Ogundoyin said.
He added that Adebutu’s commitment to large-scale farming would not only strengthen the economy of Ogun State but also contribute to national development.
“Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, with this highly inspiring investment, is no doubt taking a giant step to boost the economy not only in Ogun State but across the country. This is surely the way to go to develop our country and cut down unemployment, hunger and poverty. Our prayer is that this establishment will continue to wax stronger year after year,” he said.
The Speaker also praised the farm’s environmentally friendly practices and the dedication of its workforce, urging the employees to remain committed to sustaining the growth and productivity of the enterprise.
During the visit, Adebutu conducted Ogundoyin and his entourage on a tour of the facility, which included the processing plant, pig pens housing more than 30,000 pigs, a ranch with barns accommodating over 3,000 cattle, and other livestock sections.
Ogundoyin and members of his delegation commended Adebutu for maintaining the farm to meet international standards.
Members of the Speaker’s entourage included Prof. Abraham Osinubi and Dr. Aliu Soyingbe, Dean and Sub-Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Lagos.
