The BusinessDay Future of Agric Summit is scheduled to take place today, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Four Points by Sheraton, Lagos, where policymakers, agribusiness leaders, and industry stakeholders will gather to discuss practical solutions to Nigeria’s agricultural challenges, particularly in the area of farm inputs and food security.
The summit, themed “From Seeds to Feed: Strengthening Agricultural Inputs for Food Security,” is expected to focus on solutions rather than recurring sector problems.
Discussions will centre on practical strategies to improve access to quality and affordable agricultural inputs, which remain a major challenge affecting productivity and food security in Nigeria.
One of the major focus areas of this year’s summit is Fixing Agricultural Inputs to Power Productivity and Food Security, with emphasis on improving access to seeds, fertilisers, and other essential farm inputs needed to boost agricultural output. The summit also aims to promote sustainable input supply models that can provide long-term solutions to the country’s agricultural production challenges.
Another key discussion area will focus on strengthening agricultural input systems as a pathway to improving national food security and supporting farmers across the value chain.
The event is expected to attract notable dignitaries, including Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Systems, Oluwarotimi Fashola.
The keynote address will be delivered by Ayodeji Balogun, Group Chief Executive Officer of Africa Exchange (AFEX), who is expected to speak on how farmers can gain better access to quality seeds to boost food production and strengthen food security.
Panel discussions will also explore investment opportunities in agriculture and practical solutions to the persistent challenge of seed access for farmers in Nigeria.
Some of the speakers expected at the summit include AfricanFarmer Mogaji, Chief Executive Officer of Agbado Value Chain Limited; Uche Bosan, Group Head of Corporate Banking at Coronation Merchant Bank; Chinedu Obialo; and Kola Masha, Managing Director of Babban Gona, among others.
