The Chairman of Agbeyewa Farms, Niyi John Olajide, has reiterated the company’s resolve to deepen Nigeria’s agricultural value chain, scale job creation and deliver stronger community outcomes as it steps into 2026 with renewed focus and momentum.
In his New Year address, Olajide described agriculture when anchored on clear purpose, strategic investment and long-term vision as one of the most effective instruments for national transformation.
He said the sector holds immense potential to uplift lives, rejuvenate rural communities and drive inclusive economic growth, noting that 2026 represents a defining phase in Agbeyewa Farms’ expansion journey.
According to him, the company is positioning itself to grow operations, reinforce local production systems and further establish agribusiness as a driver of shared prosperity across Nigeria.
Olajide explained that Agbeyewa Farms’ activities in Ekiti State extend far beyond primary production, serving as a practical model of how an integrated agricultural value chain can stimulate economic revival, promote dignity of labour and sustain livelihoods.
“Our presence in Ekiti is not just about farming,” he said. “It is about building a resilient cassava value chain that connects cultivation, aggregation, processing and agro-trading, ensuring value is created at every point.”
He noted that this comprehensive, end-to-end approach has continued to open opportunities across the agricultural ecosystem, positively impacting farmers, processors, transporters, young people and entrepreneurs, while addressing long-standing gaps within Nigeria’s agribusiness framework.
Job creation, Olajide stressed, remains a cornerstone of the company’s vision, with emphasis on meaningful and sustainable employment that allows young Nigerians to see agriculture as a credible route to economic advancement and long-term prosperity.
“Looking ahead to 2026, our priority is impact as much as growth,” he said. “We want young Nigerians to recognise agriculture as a modern, profitable and fulfilling career choice.”
He disclosed that Agbeyewa Farms plans to scale up investment in human capital through targeted skills development programmes, stronger collaboration with smallholder farmers and the expansion of capacity across its operations. These initiatives, he said, are designed to boost productivity, build resilience and ensure that the benefits of growth are widely shared.
The chairman also announced plans to further strengthen the company’s presence in Ekiti State, upgrade processing infrastructure and lay the groundwork for expansion into new areas, guided by a commitment to responsible and community-centred growth.
“Our expansion strategy is intentional,” Olajide said. “For us, success is not measured solely by output, but by the lasting value we create for the communities that host us.”
He expressed gratitude to Agbeyewa Farms’ workforce, partners, host communities and the media for their continued confidence and support, noting that their trust reinforces the company’s dedication to sustainable growth and operational excellence.
“The road ahead is full of promise, and together we will continue to build value, create impact and inspire the next generation,” he said.
Olajide concluded by wishing stakeholders a prosperous New Year, expressing confidence that 2026 will further advance Agbeyewa Farms’ mission to help redefine Nigeria’s agricultural landscape through integrated value chains, employment generation and community-led development.
