Dangote Fertiliser Limited has emerged winner of the Agricultural Input Award at the 17th National Agricultural Show held in Keffi, Nasarawa State. The company received the honour for its massive contribution to Nigeria’s agricultural sector, especially through its 3 million metric tonnes per annum urea fertiliser plant.
In its acceptance, Dangote Fertiliser dedicated the award to its staff, partners, and the farmers who continue to trust and use its products.
Kabiru Ibrahim, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria (NAFN), praised the Dangote Group as a major backbone of agricultural input development in the country. He noted that the group’s strength in the petroleum sector positions it well to channel strategic investments into agriculture to boost national food security.
He highlighted the theme of this year’s fair “Empowering Smallholder Farmers: Restoring Value, Ensuring Productivity” as a clear reminder of the vital role smallholder farmers play in Nigeria’s food sufficiency efforts.
Acting National Coordinator of NAFN, Aishatu Rufai, also commended Dangote Fertiliser’s huge investment in agriculture, describing the company’s urea plant as a “game-changer.
”Speaking on behalf of the company, Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, Senior Adviser to the President of Dangote Group, said the recognition affirms the company’s measurable impact on farmers’ livelihoods. She reaffirmed Dangote Fertiliser’s commitment to expanding affordable fertiliser access, strengthening partnerships, and investing in agricultural research and innovation.
Company spokesman, Anthony Chiejina, added that the next phase for the company includes expanding production, widening market reach, and supporting both farmers and government to build a more productive and sustainable agricultural economy.
Dangote Industries Limited was also one of the major sponsors of the 2025 National Agricultural Show, organised by the National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN).
